How soon can hospice care begin?

A pre-admission assessment by a hospice staff member can be made within 24 hours. Admission is coordinated with the patient’s attending physician and the hospice team.

Is hospice for cancer only?

No. It is care for terminal illness, including cancer, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, ALS, cardiac/heart disease, lung disease, renal failure, liver disease, and diabetes.

Where is hospice care available?

Hospice care may be provided in the patient’s home, in a long-term care facility, an assisted-living facility, or in Hospice Home, our inpatient facility.
