“Simply stated, grief is the internal thoughts and feelings we experience when someone we love dies.
Mourning, on the other hand, is taking the internal experience of grief and expressing it outside ourselves.”

—Dr. Alan Wolfelt

We recognize that each person’s grief response is unique, and our goal is to respect your uniqueness in the delivery of bereavement care.

Our services include: short-term loss and life transition counseling, referral services to helping individuals and agencies offering assistance in the area of grief and loss, supportive phone contacts from VNHH volunteers, loss companioning by VNHH volunteers, quarterly mailings which include educational materials concerning grief and loss, a memorial service honoring those who have died in hospice care, and a bereavement support group which is led by Dar Richardson, who is trained in loss and grief counseling.

The group meets every Monday 7:00-8:30 pm and the 1st and 3rd Tuesday starting at 2:00 pm at Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana 6316 Mutual Drive, Fort Wayne, IN (260) 484-9560.
